- ➤ Bellevue community marked 175 years of the state's oldest church with a display of old photos, items, and period clothing on Bellevue Boulevard South. Church members and officials like Mayor Rusty Hike and Rev. Martha Slocombe said the church will host more events to honor its history—uniting neighbors and keeping the legacy alive. WOWT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Pillen said Monday morning that while the state's National Guard might support efforts in Chicago as suggested by the president, the soldiers volunteered for administrative work and will not engage in arrests. He noted that 20 soldiers assisted ICE with swabs, fingerprinting and other tasks at facilities in Omaha, Grand Island and North Platte — stressing that the mission focuses solely on safety. KETV
- ➤ Two new ballot measures to cut property taxes were unveiled by Advocates for All Nebraskans at the Capitol Rotunda Monday—one measure would cut taxes in half while the other would limit property value growth to 3% per year. Both measures will need tens of thousands of signatures to appear on the November ballot. KETV
