  • Bellevue coin dealer Rick Stelzer of J&J Coins said it is not wise to buy 50-cent rolls of the last pennies minted—2025 coins that are selling for $5 to $10 as many locals plan to save them for their sentimental value. He explained that although these coins carry nostalgia, their limited appeal is unlikely to boost prices, and local banks still supply plenty of pennies.  KETV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nebraskans receiving SNAP benefits began getting partial payments for November on Thursday after the government reopened following a 43-day shutdown—Nebraska DHHS said it is working with federal partners to deliver the remaining funds soon.  WOWT

SPORTS NEWS

  • Parents Melanie and Kelly Krings created the SheSports app to give young female athletes a safe place for one-on-one video feedback and advice on academics, life skills and recruiting; the app — designed for ages 8 to 18 — launched last Wednesday and is gaining hundreds of users daily. Local athlete Lexi Rodriguez will host a live webinar next weekend as the platform plans to expand its reach.  WOWT
