- ➤ Today, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services announced it will pause SNAP benefits due to the federal shutdown following USDA directions — Gov. Pillen, who is on a trade mission in Israel, noted that families can still use remaining funds as local food banks and community groups prepare further assistance. WOWT
- ➤ Nebraska's DHHS said it will not cover SNAP benefits if federal aid stops in November—this could force tens of thousands to lose help buying food. The state said that paying for SNAP costs $30 million each month and that taking on these expenses would hurt other needed services. KETV
