- ➤ Bellevue families will lose SNAP benefits this Saturday and the local food pantry is preparing for a surge in need—staff report a rise in calls from service members and others seeking food assistance. Donations may be dropped off at the pantry near 20th and Hancock during regular weekday hours. WOWT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska held its first Cannabis Commission meeting today to swear in members and appoint officers. The five-member commission—led by an Attorney General serving as a non-voting member—will soon review rules that could change cannabis card requirements to launch a regulated industry. WOWT
- ➤ Metro Transit is proposing changes to five bus routes that will extend evening services on Routes 4 and 13, adjust the schedule on Route 5, disconnect Route 15 from Route 55 while keeping half-hour service, and boost Route 55 frequency during peak times. Residents can share their feedback until November 3 and Metro will review all comments at its meeting next month. KETV
