Bellevue Junior Sports Association marks 50 years of youth sports as it grows from a small program started by five couples into a community initiative that now serves about 4,000 kids a year.

Veteran coach Stephanie Schendt said she loves the program’s evolution—volunteers keep it running and help local children learn the value of sports.
