➤ Bellevue University is hosting a free in-person and virtual workshop titled 'AI Scams and Deepfakes: Spotting What’s Real Online' at 12 p.m. CT on October 2 in Room 206 at the Hitchcock Humanities Center on campus—led by cyber defense expert Dr. Lisa McKee to explain how AI is used in online scams. GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley released a 57-page report on the Abstracters Board that found a former director took an extra $20,000 by clocking one hour a day for 140 days. Foley said the report (comparing the director to Bigfoot) signals that law enforcement will investigate the alleged fraud. KETV
