- ➤ Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch kicked off its season Friday morning with new attractions planned for fall, including the tractor-drawn Mad Cow Ride that both adults and children have enjoyed. After summer storms damaged parts of the park, co-owner Maria Bledsoe said the family restored the Pumpkin House (a former ticket booth) and will host Grandparents' Day on Sept 7 and Dog Day on Sept 21 while planning festivals through Nov 1. - ➤ Bellevue’s Kiwanis Club of Bellevue will hold its annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on September 11 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at American Heroes Park—Jerry Ryan Plaza to honor first responders and Fallen Warriors from Nebraska and Western Iowa lost on 9/11 and since then. Bellevue Times

- ➤ NP Dodge celebrated its 170th anniversary on Friday by partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 170 beds for kids, with over 300 volunteers working from 8 a.m. in its parking lot—providing new beds for children on a wait list and honoring a long tradition of shelter and comfort. KETV

- ➤ Gov. Pillen requested federal disaster funds to aid recovery after a deadly August storm swept through 12 counties in Nebraska—damage included injuries, a fatal tree incident at Two Rivers Recreation Area, and widespread power outages and building losses. KETV
