- ➤ Child Saving Institute and Children's Square are merging to become Child Safety Initiative, keeping current child services while adding new resources and efficiency across the Omaha metro area—CSI is nearly finished with Midtown renovations to expand youth programs. KETV
- ➤ Gifford Farm in Bellevue will host a fall festival on September 20 from 10 am to 2 pm where guests can visit animals, take a hayride through the forest, and explore the Outdoor Nature Classroom—music, games, presentations, food and vendor purchases add extra fun. - ➤ Congressman Don Bacon announced that Eppley Airfield received a $7 million Congressional grant for international expansion. He said the money will update the airport to allow international flights—boosting travel for a growing Omaha area. KETV
- ➤ At Tuesday’s meeting, supporters expressed frustration as they had little time to review the new rules that would allow 21 dispensaries to operate while Nebraska updated its medical marijuana system. Commission members must finalize the rules by Oct. 1 — concerns persist over funding and limited market competition. WOWT
- ➤ The Nebraska Department of Revenue said the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' signed on July 4 is expected to cost the state over $400 million in lost tax revenue over the next four years — the changes to the IRC may affect both corporate and individual taxes. KETV
