  • Families gathered on Saturday at Fontenelle Park for the second annual Gone, but Not Forgotten Community Walk to honor loved ones lost to homicide and violence. Organized by Families of the Stolen, the event featured music and dancing that helped grieving families share their painful memories — reinforcing community support.  KETV
  • At Fontenelle Park, families joined the Gone But Not Forgotten Community Walk to honor loved ones lost to unsolved murders and to raise awareness of 55 cold cases—CEO Buffy Bush said the event aimed to drive justice for affected families.  WOWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers, including Sen. Dungan, sent a letter asking questions about turning the Work Ethic Camp into an ICE detention center while local protestors gathered at the state capitol to call for a public forum—Gov. Pillen's office has not yet responded.  WOWT

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Greg Wagner of Nebraska Game and Parks said visitors will need to call ahead for first-come, first-served sites at Indian Cave State Park and Wilderness State Park this Labor Day weekend—he warned that park conditions may change quickly and bug spray should be brought. He explained that though this holiday weekend will be lighter than other summer breaks, the parks will still offer busy opportunities for camping, hiking, and biking.  KETV
