- ➤ Police raided four Bellevue motels after hidden cameras in guest rooms captured a woman's sexual assault and led an employee to say the hotel owner's wife watched the footage like a daytime soap opera—charges for sex trafficking, labor trafficking and drug crimes have been filed against the owner and four others. 3 News Now

- ➤ Nebraska AG Mike Hilgers and Iowa AG Breanna Bird join a group of 37 state attorneys general to urge Instagram to fix its new location-sharing feature — which shows a live map of users' locations — to protect children and survivors of domestic abuse. They ask that Instagram block minors from using the feature and warn adults of its risks. WOWT
- ➤ OPPD is set to install 400,000 smart meters and launch a new interactive outage map on the My OPPD website starting in early September. The smart meters will update outage details every fifteen minutes—residents will be notified more than a month before meter installation. WOWT
- ➤ Rep. Mike Flood visited Bellevue on Thursday and said he needs to see progress on tariffs so Nebraska farmers can reach new global markets. He hopes the president will wrap up the trade changes by the end of the year—opening access to markets in India, Vietnam and Australia—even as July data showed prices rose faster for producers than for consumers.
