Good morning, Bellevue.
🏘️ Community
The back-to-school season is here and drivers face more school buses on the roads.
Drivers must slow down when a bus flashes yellow lights and may not pass when its stop sign arm extends—if they do, fines in school zones will be doubled.
🏛️ Government
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office released results from its speeding campaign spanning July 20 through July 31—deputies made 212 stops, issued 166 speeding citations and 25 non-moving violations, gave 14 written and seven verbal warnings, arrested four for warrants, two for driving under suspension and two for driving under the influence, recovered one stolen vehicle and towed seven vehicles—in a partnership with NDOT-HSO.
Bellevue Police advised drivers to slow down and not pass cars during morning school drop-off to keep students safe and give parents time to check their surroundings—officials stressed extra caution as more students ride bikes this fall.
