The fifth annual 5K and homerun derby fundraiser started at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Werner Park—organized by the Sammy Strong Foundation to support families facing pediatric brain cancer.
Sarah Wemhoff-Strawn said her son Sammy, diagnosed in 2020 and having undergone two brain surgeries, helped inspire the event and its theme of hope.
