- ➤ Nebraska will launch the Kid Governor program this fall where 5th graders learn government and run real elections as classes register candidates with a statewide contest beginning in November — the winning candidate and six finalists will serve in a cabinet for a full year to work with state officials. - ➤ Sarpy County organizations are taking part in a summer Point in Time count today to record the number of homeless residents. Dave Gifford from All Seasons Foundation expects the count to show a slight increase that may change future funding. 3 News Now
- ➤ The 45-member Nebraska Task Force One team spent two weeks in San Antonio working 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with Lincoln Fire and Rescue and made an overnight stop in Norman, Oklahoma—if conditions hold, they will return to Nebraska later today after departing Norman at 6:00 a.m. WOWT
