Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District said on Thursday morning that the Elkhorn River Access Parks and Platte River Landing near Highway 64 have reopened after a weeklong closure caused by heavy rains & high water.
Local residents can safely visit these spots for outdoor fun over the Fourth of July weekend.

Nebraska officials issued a health alert at Glenn Cunningham Lake this week after tests showed toxic blue-green algae above safe levels (8 parts per billion), and they have closed swimming beaches while allowing boating and fishing with caution.
