- ➤ The eastern Nebraska Senior Companion Program, serving about 150 seniors with 50 volunteers, faces a funding cut if its federal grants drop when the grant year restarts in July—program coordinator Abby Wayman said 85% of the $400,000 annual budget relies on federal funds with the remaining amount coming from local sources.
