Good morning, Bellevue.

The new Medical Cannabis Commission is set to meet June 9 to begin creating rules for medical marijuana under Initiative 438, with the first licenses expected by Oct 1.

Gov. Jim Pillen said he is interviewing a candidate to fill the final seat (a role that will also serve as a Liquor Control Commissioner) as two members (Dr. Monica Oldenburg and Lorelle Mueting) have already been confirmed.

One day after lawmakers ended an 89-day session, Gov. Pillen spoke with KETV and said he supports controlled medical marijuana, plans to work on lowering property taxes and saving money, and stays confident amid federal uncertainty — his team will use these lessons to guide future decisions.
