The Salvation Army and Westlake Ace Hardware are collecting donations for box fans from customers rounding up their purchases.

Nebraska lawmakers are debating Legislative Bill 170, which will remove sales tax exemptions on 18 goods and raise taxes on nicotine products to generate $100 million for property tax relief.

Nebraska native Diane Simard, who had Stage 3C breast cancer 10 years ago, is advocating for better mental health care for cancer patients since many therapists lack training in this area.
She said her efforts aim to improve access to these services in Nebraska—where only 10 to 20 cancer centers currently offer mental health support.
