Today, Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy launched an interactive map to show which lakes are open for swimming this summer—this tool displays weekly beach samplings for harmful algal blooms and confirms that no lakes have alerts for HABs or E. coli.

On Friday morning, Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley said the Wheat Board spent nearly $17,000 on meals and travel for its 7 board members and 3 employees, including a $137 meal per person at one Omaha steakhouse.

The report led to limits on the board's spending card + it also flagged high expenses for parking and travel reimbursements.
