CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 23-year-old man, Jacob Snyder, was arrested in Bellevue on Tuesday morning for an alleged road rage incident on Highway 44 near Harlan in Shelby County when he fired rounds from his white pickup truck causing the victim’s vehicle to leave the roadway— the victim was taken to a local hospital and Snyder is now in custody awaiting extradition to Sarpy County — according to authorities. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Jim Pillen issued a statewide fire ban yesterday (citing dry conditions) to protect land and agriculture at the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency State Operations Center. The ban will remain in place until conditions improve. KETV
- ➤ Nebraska DHHS sent out its first round of Summer EBT payments on April 23rd to families with students receiving public assistance or approved applications, mailing new cards worth $120 per child (equal to $40 per month). Additional rounds will be sent May 15, June 5, June 26, July 17, Aug. 12 and Sept. 9, and instructions to activate the cards will be included (families have 122 days to use the benefits). WOWT
