- ➤ State Auditor Mike Foley warned lawmakers that $1.5 billion in corporate tax breaks will affect Nebraska’s revenue over the next four years and more than $657 million in unpaid balances may complicate future budgets. Gov. Jim Pillen and state lawmakers said Nebraska must refocus tax incentives on working Nebraskans as top tax rates drop—ensuring businesses pay their fair share. KETV
- ➤ Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen announced on Monday a grant program that will give up to 13 new veterinarians $150,000 each if they take jobs at rural vet clinics doing 80% work in food and animal production. Recipients must commit to at least eight years of service as the state faces a shortage of livestock veterinarians. KETV
- ➤ A measure to let Nebraska voters decide on mobile sports betting passed on Monday in the Legislature, which would allow betting by phone instead of only at casinos.
