Frank Bouska, a Bellevue resident and neighborhood watchman, said his circuit of six homes now loses power for longer during storms—he noted that even light hail can cause outages.
OPPD said stronger storms have led to more investments in tree trimming, stronger poles, and burying power lines—Bouska expects a visit from the utility today to check his circuit.

Angelica McFall, a Bellevue woman who beat stage III colon cancer two years ago (she had surgery and chemotherapy), is urging people 45 and older to get a colonoscopy as doctors warn that more young adults are showing signs of colorectal cancer.
Experts say a colonoscopy (the best test for finding growths) helps catch problems early, and rates of colon cancer are rising among those under 50.
