- ➤ Eaton announced a $30+ million investment in a new 370,000 sqft facility in Bellevue that will create over 200 jobs and begin production of switchgear in the first half of 2027 (at the former Blue Buffalo plant across from WalMart). Bellevue Times
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Green Bellevue announced the free Earth Day event on Sunday, Apr. 19 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Bellevue University’s John B. Muller Administrative Building (812 Bruin Blvd lower level), where an outdoor EV display and interactive activities, exhibits and giveaways will promote sustainability. Bellevue Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Olde Towne BP in Bellevue has halted gas sales after the Fire Marshal found water in a fuel tank following reports of vehicles breaking down. Local mechanics tested fuel in one car and found more than 80 percent water, and the investigation will continue until the issue is resolved. 3 News Now
- ➤ Nebraska lawmakers are debating LB803 today, which would allow first-time homebuyers to create savings accounts that let buyers deposit up to $5,000 a year for down payments. State Treasurer Joey Spellerberg said the measure aims to help residents build equity and secure a home. WOWT
