ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Emergency crews responded early today to reports of a house fire at a Bellevue home near Childs Road E & Camp Gifford Rd and confirmed that no one was injured.  WOWT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Zum Transportation started busing students in Omaha this school year and will roll out 100% electric buses with air conditioning and GPS — the fleet is set to serve Millard Public Schools beginning in August. Zum hosted a hiring event in La Vista on Tuesday and will repeat it tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. as it seeks 70 certified drivers.  WOWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Cass County Board of Commissioners halted plans for an eight-mile hiking and biking trail after residents raised concerns that the route — which would cross nine driveways — could lower home values and risk safety. Members of the Bellevue Bicycle Club who planned to ride to Lincoln now await further discussion at a board meeting on April 22.  WOWT
