- ➤ Nebraska Diaper Bank leaders said that one in three families struggle to afford enough diapers as rising prices lead to a 'diaper gap'. Last year the bank provided 3.4 million diapers to 13,000 babies — volunteers wrapped the 10,000,000th diaper pack with plans to cover every county in Nebraska. WOWT
- ➤ The Kiwanis Club of Bellevue will host Trivia Night on Friday, April 11th at the Bellevue Volunteer Firefighters Hall with doors opening at 6pm — the contest runs from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Dinner will feature sloppy joes or fish and smoked mac n cheese along with an open cash bar, and tickets are $20 per person or $110 for a table of 6 to support local kids. Bellevue Times

- ➤ Dale Woita, a 62-year-old man from Plattsmouth, was arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery at a West Omaha convenience store—video evidence and witness reports linked him to another robbery on March 1. WOWT

Pillen said removing the federal Department of Education was a good day for students and teachers because it will return funds—$290 million for schools and $100 million for lunch—to state control. - ➤ Medical students from Creighton and UNMC discovered their specialties on Match Day Friday as they learned where they will train amid a national physician shortage. Creighton student Ayushi Kaul will continue her training in Nebraska while UNMC student Grace Kelly is considering moves to Arizona, Utah or New Mexico (AAMC projections estimate an 86,000 physician shortfall by 2036).
