  • A crash in Sarpy County Tuesday morning near Portal Road and Hupp Drive sent two people to the hospital around 12:30 a.m.—one critically hurt and one seriously injured—and officials later reopened the area.  KETV

CRIME NEWS

  • Christian Lara, 23, was arrested after his mother called 911 and he appeared in court Tuesday—he faces charges of second-degree murder, second-degree assault, terroristic threats and use of a firearm to commit a felony in connection with the fatal shooting of 21-year-old George Negrete near Englewood Drive and Galvin Road that occurred last Thursday—and his preliminary hearing is set for April 28.  WOWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nebraska Task Force One’s 165-member search and rescue team has helped in 35 major disasters including the World Trade Center attack and wildfires. The team is ready to answer calls—local agencies pay their salaries while state or federal funds cover extra costs when they are deployed.  KETV
