Rita Sanders introduced a bill to give a 5% tax credit on payroll for companies hiring 10 or more workers who earn at least $80,000 a year to attract military contractor jobs—this measure, with a public hearing scheduled next week, aims to boost state revenue by hundreds of millions in response to a local workforce shortage. Megan Hunt to update Nebraska’s Name, Image, and Likeness law so that colleges can pay athletes directly and maintain competitiveness—if a pending settlement faces delays, only states with similar legislation will benefit.
